Balkan Cultural Center attended Africa Day, which was held in Belgrade on May 27th 2013, at the Museum of African Art. This year, Africa Day coincided with the fiftieth anniversary of the establishment of the African Union. At the event were presented nine African countries - Algeria, Angola, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Guinea, Libya, Morocco, Nigeria and Tunisia - and on their stands were served national dishes and specialties. In addition, rich program, music, national costumes, folk art objects, as well as exhibits at the Museum of African culture, contributed to the overall feeling of Africa in Belgrade on this special day. The presence of many officials, including the President of Serbia Mr. Tomislav Nikolić, ambassadors and ministers from different African countries, diplomats, politicians, church dignitaries, celebrities from the cultural and media life, members of the African community in Serbia and the Serbian people - friends of Africa, graced the event and contributed to even greater networking of African countries and Serbia in their diplomatic way.
